My wife and I have been married for more than 27 years and we have taken a "retreat" together at least once a year for the past 15 years. While I wish that someone would have suggested this to us earlier, we certainly cherish the times that we have "come apart". It was hard on us the first couple of times we did something like this because our children were small but the more my wife and I retreated together, the better parents we became, and our children noticed the difference. For the last 32 years, me and Jackie have made it a point to make some "us time" regardless of our busy schedules. We learned that very early in our marriage and it's well worth it. I've seen so many marriages fail because husband and wife stopped being each others BFF. I thank the Lord for your Godly example of love towards the gift He gave you... Dana! Amen brother Cary!
