Peyton Manning, in talking about the importance of planning and preparation references a quote by legendary coach Chuck Knoll that has guided his career. "Pressure is something that you feel only when you don't know what you're doing."
Manning has been asked in the past if he’s nervous when he steps on the field. His answer is “no”, and he explains that he would only be nervous if he was not prepared, and he refuses to let that happen.
May God help us to be more zealous for planning and preparing to serve God than he is for football. Thanks for sharing these great ideas and resources.

Great post, Bro. Schmidt! This was our first year putting together a full year plan, and it has already been a great blessing and caused us to home in and focus on our core philosophies. Your information as well as Pastor Chappell's has been most helpful. One thing not mentioned in this article is how resources and the budget goes hand in hand with planning out the calendar - making sure you have what you need when you need it!

Good post & thanks for the information. Good reminder that you must implement what you plan, Just did a performance evaluation and made the same statement today. It nice to know I am on the right track. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the next post.

Great Quote: "Most of ministry is organic and dynamic—about relationships which are alive, growing, and always changing. The primary point of developing a planner is so that the things that can be planned ahead, are, so there’s greater flexibility to respond to things that cannot be planned"

Powerful thought. Thank-you!
