A Legacy in Living Hymns! In a world filled with compromise it is a blessing to see a few who will not compromise in doctrine or music. I personally never met Al Smith but I have heard of the legacy he left behind. My prayer is that we will continue to follow in the footsteps of such Godly men as they followed Christ. It is a tremendous encouragement to churches throughout America to be able to purchase Living Hymns, a hymnal filled with songs that were written through the experiences of tremendous trials and blessings from God.

Thanks for the post!

Great post! Thanks for sharing your memorable experience with and good advice from Dr. Al Smith. I, too, had the privilege of meeting him a few years before he went to heaven. Even had the privilege of serving as an associate editor of "Al Smith's Golden Treasury of Inspiring Solos" while I was in college. He was a godly man, and a great source of inspiration and encouragement to those of us seeking to serve in the area of church music. Your 2nd edition LH will be a blessing to many churches!
