Hi Cary

You have been faithful and you have established a wonderful pattern (example) for others to be encouraged to follow. The fruit and blessing of the LORD are truly marvelous for us to behold in your ministry and the entire LBC ministry.

In this day of growing apostasy, there is confusion over doctrine, compromise over ministry approaches, economic and political turmoil and failing families. These are caused in part by increased spiritual deception, growing paganism, secularism and false spirituality combined with rampant materialism and hedonism...and that is just the "short list"...only a few of the major causes among other factors.

The offensive weapon of our warfare is God's word (and words, the Sword of the Spirit). They are powerful and effective when used biblically with the skill of a true "swordsman". Much of the church has had their "weapon" of God's words taken away completely or the "sword" remains useless in the sheath replaced by man's methods and pseudo-wisdom.

It is exciting to see that the LORD still honors His pure preserved and perfect word (and words) when preached, taught and followed with fervency and commitment to faithfulness in holding them up high so that God can draw men to them...and to the LORD Jesus, the Word incarnate.

Much love
Dad Schmidt

Wow it is hard to follow up the first comment. jk LOL Thank you Bro. Schmidt for your writing and example. The longer I am serving in my ministry the more I can identify with many of the points in this post. In particular the ones about helping to realize a vision, aggressive ministry and the struggle for balance were a special encouragement. It is a thrill to know that God has me right were He wants me. Take care and Happy New Year.
